About DATS Wellness
Where the precision of dance meets the science of healing.
Meet Trevor Andrews
Founder of DATS Wellness
I have been licensed as a massage therapist since 2007. Before becoming a massage therapist I spent about 10 years as a semipro principal ballet dancer. I transitioned to massage and taking care of the human body after stepping back from my dance career. Understanding the body and its remarkable ability to heal through movement and structure has always interested me and became a logical progression in my professional journey.
Since being licensed I have completed several years of work towards a BS in biochemistry as well as many hours of advanced massage continuing education. Some of those courses include: upper shiatsu, foot reflexology, traditional basalt hot stones, Himalayan hot salt stones, and multiple medical massage certifications to name a few.
Our Approach
The methodology with this practice is focused on looking at body mechanics and developing a working solution to pain and problems that range from the everyday aches and pains to the more extreme. The details are in listening to the client and their concerns while also using logic and experience to trace the problem back to the source rather than just treating symptoms. Seeing measured results within 1-2 sessions is a regular occurrence with the combination of fine-detail techniques paired with movement.
When you book your appointment at DATS Wellness, you can select your practitioner and services to meet your specific needs. Your therapist can incorporate different modalities into your session, from working with fascia in fibromyalgia treatments to deep trigger point and positional release.
Foot reflexology is frequently incorporated to activate various systems in the body and help promote improved physical function of the feet and posture.
Another unique approach used in many sessions is the layering of trigger point therapy from a medical massage concept with positional release. The combined approach helps to draw blood to the area which in turn brings lymphocytes to begin repair at the cellular level. The positional release portion keeps the body moving through the healing process with an improved to full range of movement.
At DATS Wellness, we work using a unique integrated technique that we have put together incorporating all the different styles and studies that our clients have found to be most beneficial over the years. It is a very detailed approach using fingertips to individually separate muscle fiber strands and then reset the soft tissues. Lots of positional release and stretching is also incorporated to help the body heal through a full range of movement.
With backgrounds in studying detailed movement and function of the body we refer to ourselves as body mechanics nerds. This has helped all DATS Wellness practitioners to develop an intuition for addressing tissues and finding the root cause and correction to various injuries and issues.
